Role: Regional Complex Care Nurse Manager

Location: North with travel

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £40,000

TPG Complex Care is currently recruiting for a permanent Regional Complex Care Nurse Manager in the North.

Job Purpose

The Complex Care team provides personalised and home-based quality care for clients with chronic conditions that require around the clock support. Our care teams are dedicated to one client, learning all their personal and clinical requirements and routines to really make a significant difference to their comfort and wellbeing.

The Regional Complex Care Nurse Manager is a fundamental member of this unique team.

Clinical Roles and Responsibilities

· Assess, plan, implement and evaluate allocated patient’s needs

· Ensure that professional standards are maintained in accordance with the NMC code

· Ensure accurate clinical records including care plan, risks identified

· Able to care for adults on ventilator via tracheostomy

· Communicate effectively with family, client and others adjusting the style of delivery as appropriate

· Ensure patient’s dignity is respected and TPG’s equality and diversity policies and procedures are enforced

· Maintain clear, accurate and contemporaneous records in accordance with TPG policies, procedures and protocols

· Act as a role model, assessor and mentor to less experienced employees and participate in reflective practice within the team

· With due attention to safeguarding issues, report any suspected potential or actual abuse immediately and to the senior clinician on duty

· Take reasonable care for the health & safety of themselves and other people who may be affected by their actions at work

· Work in partnership with third-parties, both voluntary and statutory, following agreed patient pathways to provide comprehensive packages of care

· Work at all times in accordance with NMC Code of Professional Conduct and scope of professional practice

· Maintain own professional development in line with NMC code of practice, and attend training as necessary in order to develop and maintain evidenced based practice

· Participate in audits as required

· Handle conflict or/and complaints appropriately and report any significant incidents

Main Duties:

· Ensure accurate clinical records are maintained

· Ensures compliance with all TPG policies, local and legal requirements relating to clinical care and Health and Safety at Work Act (1998)

· Participate in the TPG clinical governance framework

· Participates in the development of new staff within Children's Complex Care

· Ensures that confidential information is not disclosed to any unauthorised member of staff or public according to TPG Policy

· Ensure that the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, Scope of Professional Practice, TPG Policies and Procedures are adhered to at all times with particular reference to limitations of competence and conduct

· Identifies personal training needs and career development with the clinical lead part of the TPG individual Performance Review Process

· Develop and participate in training programmes as required

· Ensures that personal mandatory and other training needs are met

Systems and equipment:

· Microsoft Office - word, excel, PowerPoint to create reports and documents

· Mobizio/People Planner with appropriate training

Decisions and Judgements:

· The post holder will be required to provide expert advice and guidance to the carers and nursing team

· The post holder needs to be able to work in community setting to appropriate advice and support is accessed using national guidelines

· The post holder is required to escalate clinical or managerial decisions to the most appropriate person as per escalation policy

Person Specification:

· Registered Nurse on NMC register

· Awareness of the importance of protecting the dignity of others

· Mentoring qualification

· Demonstrate knowledge of clinical practice

· Demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of the principles of safeguarding children

· Excellent communication skills

· Excellent leadership skills

· Demonstrate teaching skills

· Must have experience with adults and tracheostomy/ventilator care and evidence of clinical practice - although full training will be given

· Demonstrate ability to lead by example and to motivate and empower others

· Demonstrate communication skills including inter-personal skills, liaison and negotiating skills, and writing and presentation skills

· Positive and enthusiastic attitude, well organised, flexible
